the warm summer (it was around 60 degrees here), fireweed and
small shrubs grow next to the glacier. |

Run-off
(again notice the gray silty color) has carved a 20' gorge
in the rock here. Notice the small white waterfall from snow meeting
the silty runoff. |

Eventually
all the small streams join up and form a river running to the bay.
Next time you drink "glacier water," remember that
this murky gray stuff is real glacier water. (It actually tastes
pretty good.) |
