A few pics of the last day of 2002

Final sunset of 2002. The white stuff at the top is a cloud.
A news chopper circles Chicago. I think the FAA must have done something stupid (say, lowering the restrictions on Chicago airspace) on 12/31 because the planes were flying a lot lower than usual--I could identify a DC-9 and a 737 flying overhead)--and the news choppers got right outside my window.
The sun sets over the southwest side of Chicago. 800 N. Michigan Ave is in the foreground; the Sears Tower in the far left; and the United Center is barely visible at right.
Going, going...
One of the cool things about watching the sun set is the changing sky colors over the course of a few minutes. This series is looking SSW at the Sears Tower and 311 S. Wacker, the little 70-story building next to it. 800 N Michigan is in the foreground, and the RR Donnelly building is visible in the top picture in this series.
